sometimes I think the reply guy era of social media is over and sometimes I get a reply informing me that the food at Starbucks is bad from a guy whose bio is “father, christian, independent thinker, sports fan” and whose posting history is 2915 replies and nothing else

I realize that more than once I’ve made passerby insecure about their replies when I’ve commented on finding reply guys annoying so I just want to be clear: posting replies does not make you a reply guy, even a lot of replies. It’s a deluge of inane, meaningless replies that make the guy. If you see a stranger eating pancakes and you walk up to tell them that your nephew likes waffles better, that’s being a reply guy
