Today I found a little game called Chinatris that is about combining character components into full Chinese characters. It will give you some hints, you don't need to already be perfectly fluent. the mechanics are a little different from tetris; the character tiles merge, which frees up space, and you win the level when you've created enough different hanzi shown at the row across the top. the mechanic where you lose if you touch the top is the same.
Reminded of an Opus Magnum-like that sees you combining kanji to form more complex kanji, EG combining 言, 口, and 五 to make 語.
