Ravelin: wait... are you lost?

Ming: Caravaners will go out to villages there [her homeland] and take little girls to sell them far away. I was just out gathering fruit for my mother...

Ravelin, shocked: oh my gods, that's the worst thing I ever heard! Well, we can figure out how to get you back with this map...

Izael: can you just fly her there with your dzovin-nar powers?

Ravelin: first, I'm not actually some kind of angel from Heaven, second, no, someone else in my family can fly but not me. If I wanna go to a certain time in a certain place, I have to get to that place on my own two feet like anyone else. I guess I can kind of move a little while falling through time to make sure I don't pop out in a wall or something...

Izael and Ming together: THAT can HAPPEN?!?!

Ravelin: oh yeah, of course, but that's not even the biggest risk. It was made extremely clear to me that the single most important thing is that I never cause anyone including myself to exist twice at the same time. Or... something really bad would happen. Which means I can never go back and re-do anything, or see my own future. I could go to a time after I exist, but... that would imply finding out exactly how long I'll live. And I'm... not ready for that.

(Ravelin gets a Trauma Face before clearing up) So, when Soron caught her star, did she get her explanation from the strange old man with a skull face or was it someone else?

Izael: a skull man?! I don't think anyone explained anything....

Ming: I just want to go home, I do not want to meet the skull man.

She doesn't mention it here, but bringing anything including herself out-of-time is actively draining and she'll have to let it revert eventually. no infinite gold glitch, at least not for very long. And since someone already asked, when she says "can't exist twice at the same time," it's someone's soul that really shouldn't do that, not their physical body or any subset of it.
