“Get out of my court, Aramaz son of Rehan and Yerahuni,” proclaimed Marzban, his fists trembling, “and take this improperly born child with you back to your mother, if you are so concerned!”

Aramaz looked to the old god, and then to Hayr, who could find no words, and back to the old god. “Uh,” he said, “no.”

Marzban’s eyes slowly widened, as though no word so foul had ever been heard in the darkest places. “… What?”

“Sorry, I’ll speak up, old man,” Aramaz told him. “NO.”

This is the rough draft (as in, I need to sleep on this, I'm out of discernment for the night) of music that will be soon appearing in my web novel Glory in the Thunder. Aramaz is a boy who may literally be the divine personification of the word "no." That is the God of Law he is telling to fuck off. He is my straightest son but I still love him very much

@2WaterGuns asked:

What are some real examples of clever Anti-piracy / copy protection? Or interesting effects thereof? I remember reading about an SFC game that pretended to be the green "VIDEO" text your TV/VCR might show when you first turn it on, but I forget what game that was.

i know exactly what one you're talking about: from tv animation slam dunk: yonkyo taiketsu!.

direct link; video contains no audio, just a word being transformed on screen

i used to have a ROM of this on my sd2snes that would boot straight into it, though i think i lost it at some point.

another fun one might be a micheal jackson game on the ds. it's a music game, and if it detects it's been pirated... it plays a vuvuzela over the music.

another good one is in gimmick; not only is it a reference to the infamous earlier game atlantis no nazo, but it was also something different in the prototype: IMPERFECT VERSION.

there's a lot of neat ones. it's hard to pick.

Episode 28: Young Eodar discovers that dragging around a fempunk murder machine everywhere he goes may have its downsides. Or its upsides, if you ask the fempunk murder machine and her new friend

Four years ago I made a custom level pack for Baba is You which turned the game into an entire Zelda game, complete with cutscenes, boss fights, and custom music! It's called The Legend of Zelbaba: A Linkeke Between Words, and yesterday @Hempuli, the creator of Baba, finally played it!

Here's the VOD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69CH0Zpvnd4

If you want to try it, you can download the pack here for the PC version of Baba, or here if you have a modded Switch!
