in three months, Crips for eSims for Gaza, a project organized by myself, Alice Wong, and Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, raised almost half a million dollars, and with 70% of the funds we sent nearly 4500 eSims to Palestinians in Gaza, the majority of whom's sole means of accessing internet is through eSims. thanks to the hard work of Mirna El Helbawi's #ConnectingGaza project, people in Gaza are able to connect to one another for essential, life-saving communication, as well as with the rest of the world.
over ten thousand people contributed to our fundraiser and nearly 100 people have helped us purchase eSims, at least 1800 of which have become activated over time. as the UN Security Council passes a resolution and as Isr**l continues its unspeakable and unimaginable genocide against Palestinians, bombing hospitals, committing flour massacres, raping Palestinian women and girls, we here in the west have a responsibility throw sand in the gears of genocide, as Rasha Abdulhadi would say, and get in the way.
