Zorotek's job is to help you be the best you that you can be!

The above is the slogan of the mysterious company, Zorotek. We've all heard it before in the occasional ads around; not enough to be a pain like other advertisers, but seemingly not enough to actually advertise their products and services. Despite this, Zorotek's offices get plenty of clients, and so far have yet to have any unhappy customers.

This is strange, isn't it? Surely that isn't enough to keep the doors of their many offices and labs open. Especially considering that they've been open for over 200 years now.

That's why I decided to look into this strange, yet beloved company. The following may shock you, but do read on.

My journey started in one of the offices near my home town, on the floating isles of Tar'ce Nu. To have an office out here is quite the feat, especially since transport and travel to Tar'ce is still rather difficult due to the heavy storms that often surround the area. Yet, none of my fellow islanders seem to dislike the place, despite them being the newest service on the isles.

Thus, I decided to interview several of my neighbors and even some coworkers. Here's what I got:

"Oh, those Zorotek people? I mean, they do help with the mail, so they can't be all bad." - An anonymous elder

"I wouldn't have been able to become who I am without them." - A recent arrival to the isles

"The Tar'ce Avia have been a lot less aggressive since their arrival. That alone makes me respect them." - One of the local hunters

"They have dragons! Tamed, shiny dragons! Isn't that so cool?" - An excitable teenager

As you can see, we have a variety of responses, but none of them negative. This makes me suspicious of the company. How can they be so universally liked? The fact that they have dragons strong enough to deal with the Tar'ce Avia--a local species, similar to the Roc'ta of the mainland's Debilca Mountains, albeit much more agile--is enough to warrant caution, yet no one seems to mind that. They could be plotting to take over our isles for some plan of theirs!

This is why I decided to infiltrate their office and see exactly what was going on! As for what I found...

It's just a post office and clinic. That's it. No nefarious deeds, no evil plans, nothing. Medical supplies, their transition and transformation kits, and a loading-and-unloading dock full of mail and mail sorting facilities.

The "shiny dragons"? Apparently that's one of their generic suit designs, based on the Pokémon Dragonite--one of the widespread dragons of the varied Pokémon species--which are designed for both combat and durability. It seems that all of their suits have this dual-purpose role.

Often paired with the Dragonites are another suit designed after a Pokémon; Swellow. An agile and quick scout to pair with a bulky and durable guardian. It makes sense.

I also saw several "Nimbats" around. Apparently these are volunteers and employees who asked to be transformed while they work--said work being simple clerical work and mail delivery. (I've actually seen a few doing the latter, too. They're not the fastest, but they're enjoying themselves.) Some of the Nimbats appear to be in the same suits as the other workers, too.

Speaking of these suits, I asked one of the higher-ranked employees--one with an orange bangle in their mane--about why these suits are in use. They explained it as so:

"The suits are designed for three reasons. One, to protect us against the elements and the majority of hazards that we may encounter. Two, the enhance our abilities with enchantments, allowing us to be more efficient with our work. Three, well... There's something about being generic and taking a break from things that these suits were designed for. The big boss said something about... "A Zoroark using something like their illusions to hide someone away after being asked." Apparently it's a story their mother told them?"

I also double-checked with a local psychic and magic expert, as I was worried that some form of mind control was being used on these employees. They confirmed that nothing of the sort was used, and checked several times. The only thing they found was apparently a light form of hypnosis on one of the suited Nimbats, which apparently did nothing more than relax the employee and help them get into character while working.

So, there's your answer. Zorotek's apparently a clean company, at least in this aspect. This, however, does not explain why they are able to fund all of these ventures and offices with such a small cost and lack of advertising.

This has been your favorite Investigative Avian, Soar Ja'roah! Next time, Is Zorotek Employed by the Goldenleaf Military?
