Whats the difference/pros and cons of Resonite vs VRChat? :O -💜

vrchats more popular and older so its got more content to it and its more stable, but its got lots of old design decisions zhat limit what you can do in it to a degree (also it uses easy anticheat which sucks)

resonite is newer, less popular, less performant (shouldnt be a problem for you on your new system zhough) but has a much more built-from-zhe-ground-up design zhat adds a lot more freedom into what you can do in it

[Resonite] is also devoid of children in lewd avatars.
And the other main thing you can do in Resonite is [build stuff in-game].
Like, you do the coding in-game and all that stuff.

in reply to @collectionofbones's post:

I'm gonna focus on some less technical stuff, since I imagine someone's gone into that? I will say I think the advantage of the Unity editor is less that it's easier to use, and more that it's easy to release prebuilt avatars with it.

One difference is how VRChat prioritises public lobbies, leading to unpopular changes being implemented (like invasive EAC anticheat) or announced then walked back (like limiting customisable avatar scaling to worlds that whitelist the feature). On the more positive side, the in depth shield system is also a consequence of this ethos; but it's not very useful if you stick to private lobbies.

Movement is significantly different between the two too, with VRChat having static jump height and walk speed;1 while Resonite calculates those from avatar height, and allows climbing, flying, and noclip by default.
