we've absolutely got like 5 of zhem, but as soon as any one gets too Intentional, it gets less popular and everyone finds some new inconvienient place to sleep instead

That is caused by a layer of tissue called "Tapetum lucidum" which sits behind the retina and reflects light back through it to enhance night vision. Occurs mostly in nocturnal animals for obvious reasons. If i remember correctly yinglets sleep multiple times per day for short periods, so part of their activity is at night, so them having it would make some sense.
