linux is a very easy-to-modify operating system for computers and such
anyone telling you to use linux as your main operating system does not have your best interests at heart
even zhe most die-hard linux fans i know will tell you it's not a good daily driver
zhat being said, it's very nice to have a laptop running linux, and it's also great for servers and whatnot
i have daily driven linux for about 3 to 4ish years now and i would still not recommend it to most people, to this day I still get painful compatibility issues that prevent my computer from performing either specific basic functions (like suspending, or using WiFi) or playing a good portion of online multiplayer games with anti-cheat. even then, i'd say I have it lucky since I work with audio and programming which are both pretty fine on linux. if those compatibility issues were sorted out completely, maybe I'd recommend it more but even then probably still not to your average person.
Ever since my hard drive corrputed, I've used Linux Mint as my daily driver. It's pretty great, but some things still require work and setup. I still haven't been able to get FL Studio working, or find an alternative that I like. I'm lucky that my favorite games have native Linux versions.
That being said, I'm never going back to Windows if I can help it. As much as I have frustrations with Linux, I hate Microsoft so much more. Data harvesting, bloatware peddling bastards turning an operating system into an ad-infested slog.
