I was bewitched by this bird because she was so huge and made very cute noises.
So yeah, it's my first time seeing an Australian Magpie! Didn't know we actually had them in New Zealand; turns out they were introduced in the 1860s. Looks to be a female due to the silver-grey mantle.
But really, the sheer size of this bird. Wow.
They're, uhh, wreaking havoc on the local ecosystem.
magpie sounds are so prettyyyyy. magpie larks, however, are evil demonspawn bastards that screech at everything and swoop anything that moves in the spring. how dare they mock the magpie

I love magpies, they’re so smart. We have a couple that we hand feed almost every day from our balcony, just 3 cat biscuits each.
They visit so often that the cats are bored of them now.
Magpies are cool. They are everywhere here in Hungary.
Sorry, that sounded flippant, haha. I find it interesting that in other places they are considered more unique but it sucks if it's invasive :(
