oh! we see elevated background levels during the day on radar, i know it's frequency dependent (and i don't know what frequency bands you observe at!) but you're probably not entirely immune to the terrible fusion orb...
i do L-band stuff mostly, 1.4 or 2.3 GHz or zhereabouts. as long as it's like 10 degrees away from zhe sun it's fiiine
