I do like Palangolin’s design! I guess it’s, um, also my design now? Neat! Shame about my hoodie, though, I don’t think they make hoodies for Palangolins…
I'm sure a quick trip to town will find you a tailor who can help with that! Though I wonder how they'd react to seeing a bunch of Squirey all mulling around the clothes store while you get fitted...
Yeah I’m gonna have to talk to them, they won’t stop following me around… though it doesn’t help that I still just speak human and not Squirey. They’ll figure out that I’m not their leader eventually, I’m sure :P
Tbh now I'm wondering what a way for a freshly transformed Palangolin or other creature to learn to speak that species' language that doesn't involve large, direct mental shifts (which I personally enjoy but I know plenty of folk don't, plus there's just more conflict in needing to manually learn a new body's functions)
I’m no linguist but I think learning a language, even with almost nothing to go off of, is surprisingly possible albeit very difficult. I don’t think I’d make any meaningful progress before changing back… but I guess someone who doesn’t naturally change back would have all the time in the world, huh?
Now I'm having a related thought, since your tfs are always temporary, the halberd might stick around when you change back, ready for someone else to pick it up (bonus points if the changeover is still in Harbortown to make a new owner take it quick)
Plus side, you can pass the now-ill-fitting custom hoodie to them, since presumably your old clothes will get restored since they were part of the change
of all the things my spellcheck flagged it somehow missed "plats" instead of "plates", which was the only actual typo and not just a made-up name or compound word or regional thing
