A mostly pelagic world, the majority of the signs of the great disaster erased by the sea's own relentless nature, where the nanoplague evolved - slicks of green-black pseudo-algae that dangle tendrils full of electrical charge into the depths, as much jellyfish as plant, shocking the things the swim and drawing them up to be digested. Wholly at the mercy of wind and current, and yet one of the apex predators of the oceans, able to ensnare, stun, and consume even the mighty serpentforms that would otherwise claim the position at the top of the food chain, all while seeming to drift placidly along, photosynthesizing.
