Basic answer for me would be “biiiiiiig plushie”… but let’s see… how about an anthropomorphic animal that seems like it’s supposed to be a character from a video game, or somebody’s fursona, or something, just has that oddly specific look… but nobody can place what they’re from. No mental changes, so the transformee doesn’t have any idea what they’re from either. Could do some fun gender-y things with it if you wanted. Outfit change optional (could always opt for clothes rippy instead).

Maybe one day they travel to a world that does recognize them, but in turn they're fictional characters there so it leaves them in an awkward spot as folk check out the cosplayers

Heh, I just thought of a funny one at least; someone becomes a fireworks rocket. It could delve into both the emotional and physical responses from it too. They may be excited about being lit or maybe they're panicked, and it could describe what the experience of being lit and firing/exploding feels like. >u< Maybe at the end they're back to normal as they've fallen back to earth and are left smoking with their clothing in tatters XD
