I write the stuff and I post the stuff and sometimes it's even good stuff

Author's note: As you can see, I have finally run against the character limit for headlines here on co host dot org. Alas, this means I will be retiring the bit. I am sure you are all very sad about this.

12: Woven

To learn to be a blade weaver, first you must travel to a mine and find the right ore. Then, you must build a forge capable of smelting that ore to create a metal that can stand up to the rigors of weaving. It takes a considerable amount of expertise to successfully perform this task, so you must become an expert in metallurgy before proceeding further. Take the metal you have created and draw it into fine fibers. There are several methods for doing this, and it is your task to find the best one.

When you have the necessary fibers, then you must build a loom capable of using them. This will require becoming an expert in loom construction. When the loom has been constructed, begin weaving your blade. The blade will take the most amount of skill you possess, which is why blade weavers are in such short supply. The result should be a blade that is light as a feather and capable of separating a man from his vitals approximately thirty seconds before they realize you even drew a sword.

If you are truly skilled, and sufficiently determined, you should be able to do all of this in about twenty years, by which time you will probably have forgotten why you set out to become a blade weaver in the first place. I suggest taking up working with wool at this point, as it is far more comfortable and, unlike the woven blade, is good for more than killing.
