20: Leaf
“What do you think of this?”
“Think of what?”
“This sword!”
“That isn’t a sword, friend. That is the branch of a tree.”
“Oh, you’re not looking at it properly. Look, here, where I’m pointing. The sword part of it.”
“That is… that is also not a sword. That is a leaf that is on the branch.”
“Ah, but look at the edge. A finer edge you’ll never find, even if you looked for a year!”
“But it is on a leaf, and not a sword. Leaves are not known for their durability – particularly not when they’ve dried out.”
“And yet, if you’ll watch carefully here, you’ll see just how good of an edge this is for yourself!”
The sound of a stone splitting, which is (if you weren’t aware) an extremely loud sound.
“Holy fucking shit!”
“See?”
“How did you do that?”
“Practice, and no small amount of effort and focus. Plus, like I said – it’s a good sword.”
“Can you show me how to do that?”
“Isn’t that why you came to me in the first place?”
