it's reached the point where I genuinely miss the early days of the pandemic where people would like... actually stand there and go "no mask, no entry" and there was shit like guiding arrows on the supermarket floors to help with social distancing!
but no, instead it's just "oh everyone is fine if I die"
What kills me is walking into establishments past signs saying "must wear masks inside!", every time I get on the TTC the voice saying "masks are strongly recommended on the TTC", the big "masks are strongly recommended on the TTC" posters, and I'm the only one in a mask sometimes. If I'm not the only one in a mask I'm one of three people on a whole big streetcar. Nobody hears the "strongly recommended" notice, they've tuned it out. I actually tuned it out and I realized suddenly a couple weeks ago I'd been ignoring the notice every time I get on for about 2 years
"strongly recommend" is just a suggestion, if its not strictly enforced, then selfish ppl have no reason to comply. I hate how it went from "strictly enforced" to "strongly recommend" bc these fucks whined and tantrumed hard enough abt their personal freedoms being taken away that the cdc backed off like cowards
