"MY PAST IS ALWAYS BY MY SIDE"

as a trans individual, it does feel like at some point in my life i buried a part of myself that forever belongs in the past, and that i never want to revisit it again. mostly my 'old' identity, my looks, photos, memories. and for many years so it was, but it kind of felt like a blackout of own history which i wasn;t fully comfortable with. from the perspective of 11 years though, since i've started transition, i can finally see that even these buried parts still make up a part of me, my experiences as a whole. it took me a while to acknowledge that it's ok to remember them, and harness them, and see how many badass things i can learn from my own past.
i made this piece to flesh out these thoughts! ..and also to honour the slav way of celebrating 31st October, ie. remembering and hanging out with those, who came before you at the cemeteries
