Aether and Aelita told me theirs. Everyone else, I just gave them a name lol. Except for fictives their name gets to be their source name.
Names are mostly for external organization (system map, journaling). I, bird, have never been super into a name that is indelibly "mine," they've never felt like they really fit, so they're just labels we're using until something better-fitting comes along.
new members usually use placeholder designations for awhile, then go through a period of trying on different names to see if they feel right
