Had a canele for the first time today (a classic French pastry). It's supposed to have a "custardy" center and a "caramelized crust" but it was more like very burnt but also with a raw center? Is that how it's supposed to go? lol But I also had a danish with passion fruit and that was super good, the seeds were really crunchy. Eating is something most of us like to do; finding a good bakery is always a great treat. Nothing ensures me getting out of bed and going to the office than the patisserie only being open on Wednesdays and Saturdays (and good luck getting me out of the house before noon on a Saturday).
My roommate is going to do stuff with her temple this weekend, so I'll be on my own, I think? Ooooo....that means Karu time...and I have to go to the grocery store tomorrow anyways to pick up some prescriptions...so I can get food just for them. And that means walking around the apartment with the blanket and watching tv on the tv in the living room and just letting them BE without worry.
Roommate does like to hang out with friends or family sometimes, but they usually come back the same day, and Karu doesn't really want to leave our room while fronting if there's the chance someone might see them. And doing the "okay I am going to set the alarm so you may come out and play for three hours" thing is not fun for them, because they don't like having a time limit like that.
The Karu baseline emotional state is a very happy and relaxed one, and Aelita always does a good job watching them (like how she watched me when I was a kid), so I get to step away from the front for a bit and the body gets lots of dopamine and other good neurochemicals and it's just a good time for everyone.
I'll have to double-check the dates/times my roommate will be gone so I can plan out the food and clothes and activities. If we can put everything in easy places, then Karu can regress more and not have to make adult decisions, which is not fun for them to do.
