UnHostiles were originally Lost Souls who retained a specific piece of themselves even in death. This piece could be a few letters in their name, a word from the name of the street they lived on, the color of a relative's hair, anything that reminds them of something specific in their past life that doesn't revolve around their death (as opposed to Memories, which only remember and mourn their deaths). Being born from such a diminutive creature gave them no offensive or defensive abilities, so they cling together to help each other survive, eventually building up towns and cities, (though a large majority of these seemed to have been abandoned for one reason or another).
Though it's possible for an UnHostile to be born through a Lost Soul, often UnHostiles have children among themselves, probably through the piece of themselves that allowed them to become what they are now.
UnHostiles are a foot or two taller than Voices. They have simple shapes that make up their bodies, mostly circles, triangles and squares of different sizes. Their bodies are black with thin limbs and their faces are white. At a glance, they look to be related to the Voices in this way, which leads most to believe that the Voices would look like an UnHostile if not born as they were.
UnHostiles do better in life when in groups as they are naturally drawn to each other in order to help each other prosper. If taught to defend themselves, they may be able to fend off a monster or two while in the group, but overall they are the weakest creatures of The Ageless Black. They have no natural defenses or offensives.
Habitats
UnHostiles live only in small towns and cities. They rarely travel outside of their homes due to their near inability to protect themselves. Despite this, they still fall pray to the monsters of the realm.
Common Locations: Promise, Ash Valley, Moonblight, Concrete Jungle
Reproduction
Though the process is little understood, UnHostile lay eggs sometime after committing to a relationship. After some time and warmth, the egg will hatch.
Growth Stages
Egg- Times as an egg seems to vary, but as long as the egg gets enough warmth, it will hatch.
Infant- Infant UnHostiles are completely helpless for the first two years of their life.
Child- Children grow quickly in both body and mind. They are considered children until their gender is more evident.
Adolescent- Last from when gender is determined/decided until around twenty years, when reproduction is possible.
Adult- Adulthood last from reproduction time until either reproduction naturally slows to a stop or two generations have been born from them.
Elder- Often times, one is considered an Elder once they become Great Grandparents, but another way is biological: when the ability to reproduce eventually peters out. Elders usually die of old age after a century or two.
Skills and Abilities
Natural Pacifist- UnHostiles do not have any innate fighting skills or special abilities, though they can be taught basic self defense sills
