"That's great and all, but I don't know how this is gonna help get Trigger off the moon."

When new Monsters or Humans move into The Apartments of The Nameless Kingdom, it can take them a little time to tell the difference between the twin Boss Monsters, Acute and Obtuse. For a few weeks, this lent itself to a few shenanigans the two could play not only against each other, but on the poor victims who hadn't yet realized the differences between the two.

"For you, Sir Acute!" the young rabbit monster girl bowed as she thrust a box of chocolates forward.
Obtuse blinked. She should probably tell this girl that she wasn't her twin, but... chocolate is chocolate. She took the box. "Thank you, dear!"

"Did you enjoy the chocolates, Sir Acute?"
"Topaz, you don't have to keep calling me Sir. I'm not a knight. ...Wait, what chocolates?"

"...and intelligent and gorgeous and I would love nothing more than to make you my bride."
"Whoa, whoa, hold on! I'm going to have to stop you there. I'm not Obtuse, I'm her twin, Acute."
The alligator monster's eyes bulged, his large jaw falling agape. "But... I said all that stuff... for... you let me serenade you for half an hour!"
"And it was very nice. Why would I tell you to stop?"

"Oh, Obtuse, I had a wonderful time last night!
"...Last night?"
"At our dinner."
"Uh... oh.... oh, geez, he did it again. Acute!" Obtuse called to the third story balcony.
A muffled "what!?" called back.
"Come down here and pay this gentleman for the free dinner you got out of him last night!"
"Ugggggh! Fine."
"I'm really sorry about that."
"... I am very confused."
"It's fine, it happens."

"Mr. Rabbit," the Lamia blushed. "I do hope you enjoyed the sweater I made for you."
"What? What sweater?"
"Why, the pink and purple one I made for you? I know you get many gifts, but surely you couldn't forgot one given to you just yesterday. Oh!" She pointed. "Did you... give the sweater to your sister?"
"Wait, what!?" Acute turned around and found his sister strutting around in a rather cute pink and purple sweater. "Obtuse!"
The Boss Monster froze up at the harsh sound of her name. Her visible eye widen then she whipped around and took off in the opposite direction.

This sort of thing happened so often with the constant influx of new Humans and Monsters that eventually, the older brother Rangle took to putting a notice in the welcome pamphlet.

Please do not engage with the twins Acute and Obtuse in any personal way: this means no gift giving, serenading or personal outings (especially to dinner). As Boss Monsters, the twins are naturally mischievous and will use your initial inability to tell them apart to gain free items and meals from you. Again, this is not done to be malicious, it is the natural trickster nature of Half-breed Boss Monsters. Below is a handy diagram to tell the twins apart. Please study it and keep it on your person at all times until you memorize these details. Please sign the bottom of this notice, tear it off and give it to Rangle at the main office to show that you have read and understood this notice. From that point on, we will not be responsible for any trickster acts the Twins may commit against you. Have a nice day and welcome home!

And while the number of "trickster acts" decreased, they never did completely stop, Some people overestimate their abilities and don't heed warnings. That's why they say a fool is born every minute.

Gonna use these microblogvember prompts to expand on the world of A Series of Unfortunate Boss Fights (Surely, I can't be 100% certain on this title I tell myself every time I use it). I haven't decided on the format I want to use for Unfortunate Boss Fights, but being able to talk about it more in some form is nice.
