While working on V and W, I was trying to put all the pieces together and was curious: when did I start working on this thing? The Campfire file was created back in May 2022 and the notebook with all the info is certainly older than that. I do know I was inspired by Guilty Gear Strive when it first came out. I wanted to create something over top and fast paced.

Strive came out in June 2021.

I have no idea why I just poked and prodded at V and W for over a year and never really sat down to work on it. And now that I'm trying, it's just You Go Downstairs all over again.

I think I was working on finishing the first set of 100 N2U Albums just because I had worked on that for so long, so everything else just suffered. It's kind of a bummer, but I'm seeing this as a chance to reflect and figure out exactly what I want/need to focus on.

I should have worked on getting the comic off the ground and while working on it, could have worked on Albums. It's a finite amount, so you'll always be able to see the end in sight. You can do roughly the same with a comic, but characters change and grow on their own sometimes and that may warrant a rewrite. You might want to add more things later or take out something. Comics is a different beast all together and it's one I need to start pushing to the forefront a bit more.

I do have an all new script ready for a short comic and I've been playing around with a new long comic that's pretty adjacent to You Go Downstairs but more tuned to my current spooky interests. I need to get started on working out all the stuff for that soon. I already have a list of things I need to develop for it before the comic can actually start.

This has also helped me make a decision about works that get pushed aside: If I haven't made significant progress with a project in a year's time, it'll go into the Rejected Works folder. (The only exception to this is The End of the End of the World as it's not story, but a world building project. It's more an ongoing design project than anything else.)
