Every time that I have to write a caption, alt text or just generally talk about stuff regarding americans when translating from a news place or any other local story, I struggle a bit because for the past few years we've begun to adopt "estadunidense" as a way to describe them, instead of "americanos".
Roughly translates as "Statunian", I'd say? And I wonder how much of that is pettiness versus genuinely reclaiming the term american for the rest of the continents.
