Honestly, kinda not enjoying this at the moment. The thing that's really killing my motivation is how weightless the combat feels, hitting enemies with melee, ranged or charged attack just feels...like nothing? The characters moving around, dodging or any other movement is also very lackluster.
I'll give it a few more chances, because I'm curious where the story and characters will go, but at Day 4 and so far it has felt very so-so.
I'm looking for ANY GAME where you play as someone with superpowers or as a superhero (source material examples can range from Watchmen to Hunter x Hunter to Spiderman). also feel free to lmk what you like about it.
my focus is on TTRPGs but I am open to board games, card games, video games, I guess LARPs too? whatever you got. trying to gather prior art for a supers-adjacent campaign I'm currently plotting
Everyone already reccomended the good, obvious ones (though I'll always nth Masks) so I'll be a hispter and recommend the non-obvious, not 10/10 ones
X-men Origins: Wolverine: You'll have to pirate this one since it has been delisted since forever. Wolverine God of War and most likely the best (and last good) videogame adaptation of a movie
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2: The best team-up, co-op games. Had all the fanservice and flair of the pre-MCU days. You'll also have to pirate them because they're also delisted since forever (I think?)
Freedom Force and Freedom Force Vs. The 3rd Reich: Real Time With Pause tactical games. They're goofy, extremely golden age games, with cartoon-ish graphics and a little brutal enemies. The sequel is a little lighter on the difficulty
Injustice 2: The Injustice comes are - somehow - one of the most genuinely humane and passionate comics under some of the edgiest premises. When you have a universe where death can happen, and people have to deal with its consequences, you get to wring a lot of genuinely heroic development out of one note villains. The videogames aren't that though, but they got some CRUNCHY combat and a lot of fanservice, Hellboy and TMNT were added just for me.
