I actually love how sad the Steam Awards are just for highlighting how miserable some of these people are
The equivalent of making up a fake competition and prize just to make themselves feel slightly less irrelevant
(also love that going into the Steam Community is just people going "No, it doesn't run well on the Steam Deck, it runs like trash on everything but the woke mob didn't nominate it for any awards SO")
I handpicked these five, which I think most resonated with me this year. Obviously, I trend towards shithosting, so goofy ones end up filling up all five nominations for me. I'd love to hear other nominations and they don't have to necessarily be funny to be your favorite.
My one request is: only suggest chosts from other people, not yourself.
First, two posts about a game I don't really a strong feelings towards but love reading about:

back when the first Dark Souls got ported to PC, I remember Gamers™ would get beyond mad if players posted screencaps wielding a Drake Sword. If you aren't aware, it is a weapon that has quite high stats and can be obtained very early, but you need to know exactly the trick - shooting a hanging tail of a Dragon with a bow in one of the very first areas of the game.
Since it was such an obscure secret, the hardcore gamers would bemoan anyone wielding one as a noob, scrub, casual, or any other word that made them feel better about themselves. Doesn't matter that obscure negative and positive secrets were always part of FROM repertoire: to them the only thing that matters is struggling because otherwise they've got nothing to show but the emptyness inside.
Anyway, I've just been thinking about it because for the first time I'm playing Elden Ring, I'm looking up any named NPC I come across and if their side quests are bullshit, because otherwise I'll just kill them and get done with it. That's how I've come across a +8 Halberd very early on. They'd be furious at that, and I love it.
