catching up on The Slopstream with Woolie and I'm flabbergasted after learning that Garrus' voice actor did a McDonalds ad

Unfortunately there's far too many grating little things in Fallout 2 for me to keep going. In a way, I already lost at character creation for making a Str 4 build without thinking that ranged weapons would be affected by it, then taking One Handed on top of it.
But the ammo scarcity really put a dent on it, meaning that the very cheap magnum rounds are also very random to get, plus party members being really, really wonky. Sometimes they'll just crit on each other, sometimes they'll be stuck the entire combat, sometimes they'll drop their weapons and go hand to hand. Not to mention being constantly wary of other bugs, missing out on quests, possibly getting softlocked, and so many other annoyances. I considered going for that one power armor that's relatively easy to get and make things lighter on my end, but its really just delaying the inevitable.
This isn't going to be a "fucking ruined, uninstall" moment but Prodeus going so hard for that Doom aesthetic and vibes at the same time it has you reload your weapons is such a jarring whiplash.
Thinking back on this and considering that I probably won't pick it back up. IMO, the two biggest issues when you ape up a known property like this is that you can end up A) Not innovating enough and being called a rip-off (sometimes good when the original is owned by shitty people) or B) Not reaching the same heights and making people wonder why don't they just play the original
When the hard metal OST kicks in in this game and I'm facing 3 or 4 slow ass enemies with an arsenal that's more or less the same as New Doom but lacks any of the destructive feeling, its just...sad
