you see that little path through the dirt in front of the cat? pretty sure that's a desire path the neighborhood cats have worn into the grass
this cat (name unknown; neighbor cat who wants nothing to do with me so far) was snoozing behind the peony and i mistook it for Possibly Injured Or Sick Or Dead (it had been lying there very still for a long time, even though the sky was spitting some rain today) and ran out into the yard and yelled KITTY??? ARE YOU OKAY KITTY????? and startled it out of a very nice nap. that's why it's giving me STINKFACE.
it was mad. it ran away. i apologized profusely. 10 minutes later i looked out the window and it had gone back to snoozing in the same spot.
