I've never known what I'm doing and I'm not going to start now

I’ve had fighting games on my mind again lately. They’ve always been something I’ve wanted to get into but have never really been able to fully wrap my brain (or hands) around them. Years ago now, I tried to get into King of Fighters and spent several hours in training mode until I gave up on learning the inputs. A while later, a friend tried to get me into a Guilty Gear game but that mostly consisted of playing matches against them while they gave me coaching advice that I absolutely did not understand because, it turns out, they weren’t a very good coach and/or I wasn’t a very good student.

But, it’s like. GG Strive looks cool. They got that Brisket girl everyone loves so much. And SF6 just released, too, so it might be a good time to get in there while there’s a lot of other newer/lower-skill players still playing. And, just generally, it’d be nice to have a game that I can play with other people? I know a handful of friends that play fighting games to some degree or another and it’d be nice to have a game to spend time with them in, y’know. I don’t have a lot of that and this seems like an option if I could just get it to click for me.

Also, there’s that one post that lives in my brain rent-free that goes something like “me and all the other bad-at-fighting-game girlies making out sloppy style in the losers bracket” and, um, hey, uh, um, I,,, um,,,,
