Every once in a while I remember how terry pratchett was like "plurality should make you immune to vampire mind control" and I smile a lot about how he would come up with shit like that

wait what i don't remember that one lmao, do you remember which book that was? i'd love to check it out
Carpe Jugulum
Agnes is introduced in Maskerade, where her plurality is mostly a joke; but in Carpe Jugulum he enters full "well, time to accidentally be cool about this" mode
damn i should really go pick that book up from lounging in obscurity in my dad's bookshelf
its kind of funny how Cool People will sometimes/often end up being cool about issues they have little to no idea about totally on accident. like someone can have no idea that plural or trans people even exist but still end up on being spot-on just by being bog-standard "everyone should be recognized as a person and treated with basic kindness/respect for who they are"-pilled. doesn't always work (how someone writes Ender's Game and then goes on to be a raging homophobe is absolutely beyond me), but works often enough to be funny
i know about cheery littlebottom! and there were some other trans-adjacent characters and narratives in his books too, right? god i really need to read more discworld books. keep meaning to finally go and get a new library card and see what the local branch has but keep forgetting
Monstrous Regiment is his book where he tries to talk about gender and ends up inventing trans masculinity from first principles solely because it just makes sense ya know
he's so fuckin g cool and that book is so fucking good
