it feels like NFT art in a way i can’t articulate. like obviously it’s soulless but most corporate art/design is. what’s different here
it's completely unasked for and obviously terrible and so transparently an abortive attempt at goosing speculation on their assets. it's nakedly cynical, ugly, abjectly unappealing, definitionally pointless, and yet will inevitably somehow result in the most annoying people you've ever heard of getting a big fat paycheck. it FEELS like the NFT push beyond the faithful boosters-- the push by marketers and investors and other dumb herd animals with seemingly zero outside perspective or genuine vision beyond "this will make us money." a choice made by people who have never seen an art in their lives but have read a lot about it on wikipedia and are really interested in novel investment opportunities in the disruptive avant-garde of speculative content creation. boring soulless facile corporate tech bro homogeneity masquerading as a bold new reinvention for the good of the user. it fucking sucks i hate it
