If the new Homestar Runner Halloween short had been released 18 years ago, when I was still a malleable little lady watching Homestar on her Windows XP, half of this short would have become permanent fixtures in my lexacon.

"Severals of people."

"It's a pleasure and a joy joy!"

"How you feelin' in there?" "Rumpled on the inside!"

"Door Number Twice"

I dunno how the Brothers keep doing it. There's just a kind of way of speaking that is very quintessentially Homestar Runner that has always made up a bulk of my humor and lexicon since the 2000s.

I think I only watched two or three Homestar Runner episodes my whole life and yet I'll never be able to stop quoting them. If I had watched all of it I probably wouldn't be able to communicate in nothing but Homestar Runner quotes

There's an entire college linguistics essay to be had in analyzing the way Homestar Runner characters talk, I'm sure. It's a matter of picking words that almost sound like they're correct but mean not quite the same thing as the correct words, or constructing the sentences just slightly off that people still know what you mean.

I'd have to imagine that any attempt to localize these things would be an absolute nightmare.
