Parker Posey's Mouth

I came across an artist I didn't know. Maria Albani. Her solo work - under the name Organos - just captured me instantly. The perfect sound to my ear.

The bad news is, there's not very much of it, and even her broader works with other bands like Schooner, there's just not much of. An album here or there. So I once again have to experience the pain of pining. Pining for a world where the music I like is flourishing. It kills me to live in a world where sounds like this are just forgotten.

I'll listen to it all. I listen as much as I can. But I'm never going to be able to talk about this. To share it. Because nobody is ever going to know who or what I'm talking about. Unless I, by some miracle, find myself in the company of Superchunk's Jim Wilbur, who apparently, like me, wishes there was more of this wonderful sound. Beyond that? Hard to even find mention of this artist and her work. It's a real tragedy.

Please listen to at least this song, but ideally this entire album. It's just 30 minutes, and it's SO. GOOD. Queer as well, if that makes a difference to you! If you don't love it by track three, there's something wrong with your heart or your head, and I'm sure we can still be friends, but I'm also sure you'll never understand me. Not really.
