All of this information has been gathered and postulated by systematic scientific study. People should be listening to Sociologists, who have been trying to tell us this since Karl fucking Marx's day. There's nothing 'Prophetic' about any of this. The writer even points to a source for the post's perspective. He got it from a T.S. Eliot poem. This has been predicted by scientists since the mid-industrial era, and expressed in art nearly as long. "The Hollow Men" was written while Mussolini's Fascist party was consolidating it's power over Italy. We aren't witnessing a revelation here - history repeats itself, anyone who studies it can see the patterns. - This writer studied one other writer, who had studied history and observed the pattern. This is, at best, 3rd hand reporting of well established phenomena by this point.

Also note the divergence into Conservative territory this takes at the end. "...the reduction of the AMERICAN MAN into a feudal serf..." Emphasis mine, but why specify this? Is this only a problem for the Men? And only the American ones? Based on where this came from, I'm not willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that this distinction was made thoughtlessly or in error. It would be wrong that anyone be reduced to a feudal serf, but the writer of this post is only concerned with himself and his assumed audience - American Men. Most assuredly White ones, as again, this post was made on 4chan in 2014, when the neo-nazis were hotly recruiting every disgruntled White guy on the internet into their cognito-sphere. It's a small thing, the specificity, but very meaningful to those who are keyed to recognize themselves in those words.

Social decay and societal collapse are much slower processes than entertainment media would lead you expect, that much is verifiably true. It's a sinister multi-generation warping of social factors in favor of autocracy, decadence, fear, and oppression. That's what this part of the cycle always looks like. Fascist thinkers, like this dude, will draw the Conservative conclusion from observing this pattern - that this is the "correct" path for society to take, as it represents the path of least resistance to the status quo, BUT the issue arises that only one group can benefit from it, and it ought to be the one the Fascist thinker belongs to. - This poster sees American Men, as uniquely in jeopardy here. He is not concerned with the rest of society or the world, only those he sees as having been empowered in the past to make the right decisions utilizing a dominant social position and monopoly of governmental powers. He issues this warning as a call to action for American Men to retake their power from the other groups which have usurped it, and in doing so brought society to it's perilous present day situation, one which is viewed as uniquely effecting the American Men. All of this functional slavery inherent in the system which he bemoans is only an undue issue when applied to American Men. It would be correct and just applied to all other groups BY American Men.

Posts like this being carelessly shared by people all across the political spectrum are partly to blame for Fascism's resurgence in the ten years since the post was originally made. Content like this is able to make emotionally resonant arguments based on True inferences about the pattern of history, and False assumptions about what must be done about them, and well meaning people who have recognized the "True" part will fail to notice and perhaps subtly integrate the False part, before spreading it around. If you aren't tuned to the key phrases, it's easy to empathize when you agree on the basic shape that injustice is taking - debt, poverty, exploitation, shortage, disrespect, indignity, etc. - You've felt them too, haven't you? Do not let that lull you into a false sense of solidarity. Pay close attention to who the message is directed at. Who is named as the beneficiary of the corruption of the status quo? Or else, who is identified as the real victim of this perversion of order?

It's super important that everyone trains to pick up on context clues and really critically read the messages we rebroadcast. In our present times, it's very very easy to propagate destructive ideologies, and harmful memes. Be mindful of the signals you are receiving, and the ones you are sending. Especially the ones you feel strongly about. And please don't take it personally; everyone is fallible, and the technology we communicate with makes it easier than ever to make a mistake. There's no personal judgement intended in this process. It's just part of looking out for one another, and I hope you'll do the same as a friend and neighbor.
