My original music

Getting close to the end of the album, and track #1,000. This is track #997. Aphantasia, the way I understand it, is the inability to visualize images in the mind's eye. I can't visualize mental images, or at the very least, I see it as some kind of data that vanishes as quickly as it "appeared".

The song itself doesn't do much. I tried to imagine darkness with various noises and sounds. It's still musical, just nowhere near as musical as my previous tracks. I think it sounds great, maybe something that could be in a Metroid game.

Nice track ! It's a bit different from Metroid, it sounds more ... urban or modern or something, but there are similarities.

Regarding aphantasia I saw a few things on it and I started wondering if I wasn't affected myself. Though I wonder if it's not due to people with it trying to describe how they assume others "see" in their mind. But yeah, I never see precise pictures in my mind, I conceptualize some details or vague outlines but it's pretty evanescent. I do dream though and then I can see actual things.
Now I know that I don't have a photographic memory and can't manipulate objects in my mind like some people say they do but I have a more conceptual understanding of 3D objects. When I draw I work by adding details and can't really know the end result beforehand unless I have a model or I copied and learnt the thing previously. So I dunno.

I'm not sure what my brain does to make me remember things. It feels like other sensations like touch, smell, sound play more of a role in remembering something. At the same time, I can remember someone's face (when they're in front of me) without being able to visualize it. I'm not sure what I actually see in my mind. Trying to remember a face without it being in front of me is hard. I used to draw for fun, and it would basically be winging it, just like I write music. I don't know what I'm going to do until a certain point where it's being worked on.

Yeah, similar experience. With faces I can have a vague idea of someone's face but I couldn't draw it unless I did it and learnt it before and the result is still a bit of a surprise.
