My original music

I've been looking at my song list, and I (mis)remembered that (EDIT: The stuff crossed out is not accurate. I did include the Joke songs, I just didn't look hard enough for them on the list.) I never put the 11 joke songs I wrote for one Destructoid April Fools "album" (1 song I wrote for a troll didn't make the list, nor did my Darksiders 2 Dtoid entry song "Death's Lament") on the list. They function as songs, but back when I was making the list, I didn't count them because they didn't mean anything to me at the time. I don't count short themes like podcast themes, or remakes and remixes. So stuff like From Alpha to Omega II and Walking in Circles II didn't add to the list.

What I'm getting at, is my list is not accurate. I don't think it will change my plans. I would prefer not to add the joke songs to the list. I'll probably stick to the plan of 15-17 songs for Spectrum III, and 10 songs for the personal album.

There are probably other songs I either missed, or decided not to count. So I guess this is more of a "List of unique original songs I consider to be worth something"?

I have no idea what I'm doing for the next album, but I have 3-5 songs to figure that out. I'd like to get it out before the end of the year. No particular reason. I'm taking my time.

While 1,000 unique original songs is quite a milestone, some people may feel I either already hit it, or am very close to it. If you count the remixes and remakes, I'm well over 1,000.

We'll see what happens.

EDIT: Memory issues strike again (also bad scanning of list). I did in fact include the 10 songs I wrote for the joke album on the list. I did not include the joke song I wrote for a troll called "what I like", or the Darksiders 2 Dtoid entry "Death's Lament".

I wanted to share some thoughts on the new album I'm working on. I have written 10 tracks (so far?). I could release it as it is, but I wouldn't know what to call it. The plan is to write at least 5 more tracks, and call it "Spectrum III".

The Spectrum series is known for being longer than the usual 10-track albums. Spectrum is 23 tracks, and Spectrum II is 20 tracks. I figure at least 15 is a good length. My most recent song "Fantastic Journey" is my 983rd song.

I'm trying to make each song stand out on their own, covering a spectrum of genres/moods.

I'm mostly just typing to type. Looking at the numbers (the unusual youtube inflation views seems to have died down thankfully), not many people are interested in my music. I can probably count on one hand the amount of people actively interested in the music I write.

It is what it is, and I think it's either because I write too many genres, or perhaps I'm niche? Is that the word? Maybe I just write so much music that it's hard to keep up. I'll probably slow down a bit after I hit 1,000 songs.

I guess I want to do something special for my 1,000th song if I make it that far. Anyway, it doesn't really matter. If you listen to it, I hope you enjoy it. If not, then at this point nothing I say, do, or write will mean anything.
