I was just listening to “Running with the Wolves” by Aurora and not only does that song give massive “breaking out of human society to embrace the wild” vibes, it was featured in a movie about a little girl who feels ostracized from the large city she lives in becoming a wolf and leaving to live in the woods after a journey of self discovery that teaches her how to stand up for herself against an oppressive assimilationist society

So last night I had a serious case of the "Therian Shift" as I loke to call it. Sometimes certain triggers will really make me go creetur mode, and for those that know my identity is that of a fluid, ever changing, wolf/canine, panthera/feline, fox thingy thats octerine in shifting hue and catoonish in design (wolfwalkers-esc)-

Very much creetur

But uh, last night I had a very compulsive shift and my headmates noted that I looked different? But I didn't feel like me it was a monochromatic, cartoonish (Wolfwalker style), wolf! Bright white eyes too, apparently. It didn't talk at all, I don't think it could, but I could feel its instincts and that it was momentarily confused, even threatened by some of the other headmates- up until sniffing them and I assume recognizing them, as it quickly relaxed.

Regardless, this critter, through its eyes, ran about the headspace before finally resting- where finally I found myself able to 'split' from it and look at it, sleep by it.

This morning, not present anymore! However the rest of the system definitely recalls it. One even road it!

💙💜 It was fun!!! Like a small horse!

Apparently, heh. Anyway, I look forward to seeing where this goes, if its a new headmate I hope it shares its name, or at least chooses to stay.

... It compelled me to title this drawing as Omen, its not exactly what I imagined it looking but its certainly close.

I am a bit put off by the choice of title, name? But also I don't feel ill-intent behind this plural mate either.

Regardless, no sign of it appearing again (other then in art), but I, all of us, certainly feel it in the back of our shared mind. Forming, gently, carefully, not scared but, cautious.

So, it has been taking the day to understand itself, and compared to the first drawing it had me make, this is a significant leap! At least, I and the rest of the system think it is.

Its interesting, I had at first thought the first drawing was full of energy and, maybe playfulness? But comparing the two, and taking into consideration how it reacted to the rest of the system upon first meeting them, it reads as anxious or panicked.

Sol currently theorizes that it is, like the rest of the system, another aspect of Nat/myself. Likely as a result of my 'recent', strong embrace of my therianism. He admits is not much more then a hunch, but its been pointed out that in regards to these sorts of things a hunch can be pretty much hard evidence, or at least carry the same weight.

Anyways, last thing thats also been determined is it does not like the name "Omen" but it is okay with keeping the word Omen as part of the title in these pieces.

None of us know if we'll see another drawing soon, but we do know that it is forming gradually and even came out earlier today to interact with the system for a moment before vanishing/hiding away. We can all still feel it though, and feel its feelings, which is the only way we've been communicating currently.

i've seen a lot of posts about therian instincts or impulses, or phantom tails or wings, and i've never really felt like any of that applied to me. but i did just remember today that i have very fine control over my ear muscles and move them instinctively to try to hear sounds better (even though that does nothing with my feeble human ears). i don't know if this is actually uncommon or just something i wasn't paying attention to, but hey, that's a thing.

I rarely get shifts the closest I get to being able to do anything that I can’t already do as a human is tapping my foot when I’d wag my tail

Edit: accidentally hit post too early
Was going to ask if you know of a way to train the muscles that can move your ears because I can’t do that

I too am able to wiggle my ears! Mr left one more then my right, unfortunately. (I usually tilt my head to compensate)

When I'm a shift though, I tend to not use my thumbs- scratch behind my ears ane chin with my fingers close together, like a paw, once I had a case of leg kickies after getting a good scratch~

Oh! Also phantom tail and phantom ears, pointed tips that react better to my wiggles.
