how "plants on earth are mostly green now" is a crazy fluke of evolution and probably wasn't always the case, the first widespread photosynthesis probably used retinal, a purple-blue pigment, instead of chlorophyll and it was just a crazy random happenstance that the porphyrin that came out on top when the atmosphere switched to oxidizing was green?

because I think about it a normal amount

Screw going back in time to mess with history or to "set right what once went wrong". Old hat. Unpredictable consequences. Might not even matter.

I wanna go back and see what the world looked like, understand how things formed. Maybe get a peek into the whole Moon situation. Stuff like that.
