I think itβs funny, how youβre one of the few tech channels (at least that Iβve seen), that, when talking about corporate greed, and ways companies are fucking the consumer over, will acknowledged how these things are motivated by capitalism. Itβs like, many people are complaining about people sneezing, without acknowledging the flu thatβs going around.
The depressing truth that suddenly clicked with me about six? years ago is that every time I started complaining about something, I already knew the answer. And I wanted the answer to be a lot more interesting than it really was, I wanted there to be a new kind of malfeasance, something I could really hate. But there isn't. It's always the same.
The thing about this, outside of just being True, is that everyone wants something to do and WILL find something to do if they don't have anything to do. Sometimes that'll be practical stuff like running a community garden or cooking for others, sometimes "less" practical stuff like making a game or writing fiction, and sometimes "nothing" like getting high and sleeping on the couch all day.
But folks are more likely to do the two former than the latter despite what modern culture will tell you. Hell, I suspect people often claim the latter because they're actually way more tired and burnt out than they realize and that's secretly what they wish they could do.
This is one the reasons why I feel patience is an important skill to development. We're all struggling, beat down, and scarred from the same source. If we can't work together, we can at least work side-by-side.
