we built a world that's too focused on hands and legs, and the only people who have setups that let them do even trivial things without their limbs are people who are already disabled, and those people are geographically distributed and dealing with other stuff and not in a position to band together to desperately figure out how to get groceries to billions of people before we all starve.

also those of us who live near the sea and are foolish enough to go outside would be carried off by large birds.
