Options aren’t great if you’re specifically looking for mechanical boards, there are plenty of membrane ones with trackpads that are okay but tend to be extremely flimsy and generally unpleasant to use.
Going back to mechanicals, one half-measure I was looking into for a while is using keyboards with customizable firmware like QMK or VIA which allow binding mouse functions to keys. There are dozens if not hundreds of options there which is cool, but it doesn’t compare to having a nice trackpad or track point.
Apart from the TEX boards, the only other mech board with a pointing device I’m aware of is the HHKB Studio I mentioned in my post. It’s a pretty good board with good build quality and lots of features, but super over priced and the track point functionality just isn’t quite as good as it is on a TEX or regular old Thinkpad.
So really there aren’t a ton of options out there if you’re looking for a sweet-spot wireless mechanical board with a pointing device. From my research, the TEX is as good as it gets.
