There once was a woodsman who dropped his axe into the river. To his surprise, a beautiful goddess rose up from the water. In one hand she held an axe made of gold, and in the other one made of silver.

She asked the woodsman, "which axe did you drop? The gold, or the silver?"

He answered, "Those are both terrible metals to make an axe out of. Where the hell did you even get those?"

As a reward for his honesty, the goddess gave him both axes. She didn't give him his real axe back, which kind of pissed him off. Sure he can buy an even better axe after he sells the stupid gold and silver ones, but town is far away and he only goes like once a month.

Still, he figures, at the end of the day, if she hadn't shown up he wouldn't have any axes, so he can't complain too much.
