Whatever being that corrupted Jevil and Spamton did not do it on purpose, and in fact is actively trying to avoid that outcome.

But it's difficult. Jevil was a complete failure. Mind broken. He learned too much about the nature of his existence and couldn't handle it.

Spamton doesn't understand the details, he just knows something is terribly wrong. He knows he's not the master of his own destiny, but he hangs onto the (mistaken) belief that he can change that somehow, that he can find the means to become "a real boy."

The Entity is learning to become... More subtle. Maybe its next tool will be able to serve its purpose... At least for a time. Before it breaks and is discarded.

But these beings are so fragile. It will require... A delicate touch.
