I'm rapidly approaching the end of this show and I have some thoughts.
(Apologies to any Kiva-likers searching this tag. I do not like your show and this post is entirely dunking on it.)
My thoughts haven’t really changed at all about the series as a whole.
That said. Holy shit I was not prepared for that ending. I was literally speechless. Just mouth agape, hands in front of face, unable to process what the fuck I was seeing.
I mean with Toei asking for "Twilight but Kamen Rider, also you have to do something with a trio of marketable monsters like the Imagin" I understand what we got.
See, I don't. Because none of those things are actually the problem with the series, IMO. The show could absolutely have still had all of those things and not been terrible, it just seem like they didn't bother.
Sorry, asking for that from Toshiki Inoue. He definitely entertained himself a lot with this one but it doesn't make for great watching.
I actually love Inoue but Kiva is like a greatest hits where he slapped a bunch of his favorite past bits together whether it made any sense or not. Don't let that put you off watching 555 which is a masterpiece.
Ooooh. My friend would vehemently disagree with you, but I will try to keep an open mind.
I leave you with this: Otoya is loosely based on Inoue's father Masaru Igami. Inoue himself has tons of allergies.
Okay, but in fairness, I love Wataru to death but I would never watch a show he wrote.
I just find it incredibly funny. Also Yonemura based Tendou on Inoue.
Sorry, you lost me with that one. (I'm still filling in the gaps of my toku knowledge.)
Shoji Yonemura was the head writer on Kamen Rider Kabuto, featuring Tendou Souji as the titular Kabuto.
