maybe it's the post-mormon trauma but the surest way to make me see someone as a threat is for them to be clean cut, sharply dressed, and unimpeachably nice.

Well I was never a mormon or in any kind of religion, and I feel the same way. I can see how being a post-mormon would heighten that feeling, but rest assured, there's a lot of us who do not trust a slick person in a suit.
not mormon but i grew up in the south so this honestly vibes. squeaky clean religious people are absolutely not to be trusted to have your best interests at heart
