Im no longer mourning that place tbh, burn it down. One of the positive things about web 2.0 was it being broader than a community level so you didn't have to worry about the guy running the vB going off on one ( and I'm aware of the irony of me saying that, sigh ) but this is full cult of personality now.
I'll miss the like 3 people on twitter who haven't moved elsewhere but I got so much more joy scrolling tiktok this morning ( now that the algorithm is showing me the weird shit ) than I have gotten from twitter in a while - that being a place of raw creativity where people didn't seem to be talking around the billionaire in the room was really refreshing.
