Gids Geese - Gaia Gear (1987)
Designed By: Mamoru Ito (Presumed)
It's not mobile suit time, it's Man-Machine time! The Gids Geese is a beefy friend. Like all man-machines in Gaia Gear, it is loaded to the teeth. It has an i-field generator, funnels, lots of beam weaponry, and sand-barrels (sort of vulcans but acting more as shotguns for being more effective at shooting down missiles and the surprisingly ubiquitous funnels that a lot of suits have in this era). This is a machine used by the man-hunters and it's not just beefy, but also quite tall, with a head height of 24 meters, which I presume isn't including the antennae and such. Given the width in the art, that sort of makes this machine a flying brick, which, I always love large machines though.
You can also see in the third image what appear to be some kind of binders, shield or otherwise, on the shoulder. Given how much smaller the backpack looks in that shot than from the front, my presumption is part of what looks like the 'backpack' in that first image is just these shoulder shields rotated and tucked back? Hard to know though, sadly there's not a lot of art of many units in Gaia Gear.
The fourth image also is very obviously a different type than the other three, while it gets labeled as a model of Gids Geese on a few sites I was looking at, it appears to be a far more lightweight version. The machine doesn't match up to either the Gussa or Bromb Texter series of suits, which are the other major Man Hunter suits. Either way, also a neat machine.
