I'm deeply anti-nationalist, but I do think it's worth distinguishing between countries that have mostly been oppressed vs countries that have mostly perpetrated violence. I don't think people who proudly fly the Puerto Rican or Haudenosaunee flag or the Wiphala belong in the same category as people with US or Spanish flags in their bios.
There's a meaningful difference between "I'm proud that I can beat you all up with impunity" and "I'm proud that I've survived so many beatings"
