In addition to the blurb above, I'm a recovering mathematician, Jewish, and autistic as fuck--those didn't alliterate

Sometimes I write poems, mostly in English and Spanish

I feel weird putting my age in my bio but I am in fact a Grown Up if you were worried

I read the NYT review of the new Judith Butler book and they linked to an NYMag article which I really enjoyed by Andrea Long Chu

I like this framing of how trans kids should be allowed to have the freedom and right to bodily autonomy simply because they are humans and a part of the great diverse fabric of human experience.

This was so good that I'm having trouble picking a pull quote; everyone should really just read it. I'll stick with this one, from near the end.

Sex is real. So is global warming. To believe in their reality is an indispensable precondition for making normative claims about them, as we know from climate activism. But the belief that we have a moral duty to accept reality just because it is real is, I think, a fine definition of nihilism.

My reaction to the Andrea Long Chu piece was that I'm skeptical of her interpretation of Butler and found much of the essay frustrating in that way but also agree with all of the ultimate conclusions she makes so ¯_(ツ)_/¯. I can't remember any specifics at this point though.
