it's interesting that the only people who believe that all violence commited by israel is violence commited by jews;- are people who think that said violence is very good.
no-one criticising israel thinks that israel represents all jews and vice-versa. in fact, a lot of the pro-palestine protesters are jews themselves. the "isreal=jews" belief is a belief only held by the pro-israel side to smear thier critics
I don't want to write a call-out post. But. This is obviously false? Like, the entire history of Jews in the Arab world and the Eastern Block in the second half of the 20th Century is one of ordinary people, sometimes apolitical and sometimes even committed antizionists, being persecuted because as Jews they were blamed for whatever horror the State of Israel had most recently committed.
Is this a thing people in the West are not aware of? If you want to do a Wikipedia dive, start with articles like Jewish Exodus from the Muslim World or 1968 Polish Political Crisis.
Also, it's certainly not on the same scale as those other things but it's not exactly fun the way some people in leftist circles treat Jews as Zionist-until-proven-innocent. I've had multiple people hear my name, learn that it's Yiddish, and immediately ask "you're not a Zionist are you?" For comparison, I don't think I've ever been asked if I'm a racist or a misogynist, despite being visibly white and male.
